Ask a Choreographer – Lina Gómez

The Colombian-born choreographer and dancer Lina Gómez studied dance and theater in Sao Paulo/ Brazil. She received her master's degree in choreography at the Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin, where she lives today. For her group piece "A Passo di Mulo" (2018) she received a grant from the Berlin Senate Administration as well as a revival grant in 2019. Her work "Restraint" was presented at various locations in Europe and was part of the European dance platform "Aerowaves Twenty19". The Goethe-Institut made it possible for her to stay in Chile, Uruguay, India and Japan. In 2020, Gómez was a resident at Radialsystem as part of the "Body Time Space" program. She is a scholarship holder of the pilot project Tanzpraxis 2020/2021 of the Berlin Senate Administration and received the grant Dis-tanz-solo 2021 from the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland. As a dancer and performer, Lina Gómez works with Tino Sehgal, Yoshiko Chuma, Edson Fernandes and Jorge Garcia, among others.
