This evening invites audiences to journey through the intersections of tradition, resilience, and transformation. Haunting and defiant soundscapes confront collapse with a glimmer of hope, and transcendent voice bridges temporal divides, crafting a private dimension where the sacred and the experimental flow into one another.

Multidisciplinary practitioner, performance artist, and alchemist Jordan Deal will present the German live premiere of his album Seas of Triple Consciousness. Echoing elements of gospel, blues, folk traditions, and avant-garde techniques, the work takes us on a journey through a landscape collapsing from oppressive forces, yet with a hopeful horizon. Anchored in piano and voice, Deal’s deeply personal music is as haunting and fragile as it is defiant.

New York-born, Tamil Nadu-raised, Ganavya wields a voice that's equal parts lullaby and lightning bolt, drawing from a deep well of spiritual blueprints passed down through generations and letting the lines between past, present, and future blur into something beautifully unrecognisable.

Biographien

Jordan Deal embraces chaos as both a material and methodology, using vocal and movement-based improvisations to dismantle and reimagine narratives of power and resistance. A Philadelphia-based multidisciplinary artist and alchemist whose work defies conventional boundaries, Deal navigates the intersections of performance, sound, and film to explore the unseen forces that shape socio-political structures and mythologies. Through a unique blend of mythbuilding, memory mapping, and autobiographical myth fabrication, they delve into themes of language, dialectics, Blackness, and the subversive potential of "undead knowledge".

New York-born, Tamil Nadu-raised, Ganavya Doraiswamy moves like a sonic shapeshifter. A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and unabashed wanderer, she wields a voice that's equal parts lullaby and lightning bolt, drawing from a deep well of spiritual blueprints passed down through generations. Raised on pilgrimage trails with a soundtrack of harikathā and poetry interrogating the status quo, she turned her childhood of storytelling into a life of fluid, multidisciplinary creation, letting the lines between past, present, and future blur into something beautifully unrecognisable.

CTM 2025 will visit Radialsystem over seven consecutive days from 27 January to 2 February, uniting music experimentation and performances with a 5-day discourse programme and an artistic lab.

This festival edition will run without an overarching theme, instead exploring a series of new and ongoing thematic strands. One of several points of focus will be on how traditional art forms and aesthetics can be reinterpreted within modern sound and performance, outside of (self-)exoticisation and the uneven power dynamics created by mass-cultural and other stereotypes.
