Composer Seth Graham and multi-genre artist More Eaze present "Night of Fire", a raw exploration of extremes: near silence and cascading noise, tenderness and rage. The performance blends dissonance and melody, beauty and chaos, crafting an experience that captures both personal trauma and universal turmoil. Drawing from their experiences of systemic oppression and repression, the work oscillates between light and dark, rage and serenity, weaving these opposites into a fraught equilibrium. The result is ferocious, gorgeous, and surreal—a cathartic meditation on the conflicting desires to scream at the world and sing over it.

Self-taught composer Theo Alexander delves into what he terms 'insurmountable contradictions'. His music often juxtaposes opposing themes, such as the manmade and the natural, engaging them in an anxious yet playful dialogue. For this special project "So Afraid To Show I Care", he’s joined by Qow, whose approach embraces poetic imperfections and moments of unexpected intimacy, resonant with vulnerability and depth, along with rapper Otteswed and double bass virtuoso Klara Pudlakova.

Biographien

Hailing from Ohio, Seth Graham merges his philosophical background with a deep exploration of sound. Artist, composer, and co-owner of Orange Milk Records, Graham’s work encompasses a wide spectrum of styles, blending the intellectual rigour of classical avant-garde traditions with the fluidity of modern pop. Through the use of MIDI data, Max MSP, and carefully-selected samples, he constructs pieces that challenge the listener’s perception of genre and texture with a playful yet precise approach.

Deeply personal, the sounds of Mari Maurice aka More Eaze span a wide array of genres and nuanced themes. Introspective sound palettes reflect on topics such as gender, identity, intimacy, and the quiet intricacies of everyday life. Maurice shapes her music in ways that feel both experimental and intimate, inviting listeners into a space where the boundaries of self and sound blur, marked by a sensitivity to perception; exploring how we experience the mundane and how identity can be shaped through subtle moments of connection and reflection.

The work of Theo Alexander defies tradition. The  London-based self-taught composer delves into what he terms "insurmountable contradictions." This exploration has led him to experiment with blending tape-recorded sounds and live performances, a hallmark of his evocative approach. His music often juxtaposes opposing themes, such as the manmade and the natural, engaging them in an anxious yet playful dialogue. While his music doesn’t promise solace from life's catastrophes, it offers listeners a vivid immersion into its emotional undercurrents.

Omar El Sadek aka Qow is an audiovisual artist whose practice bridges electronic sound design and animated visuals. His approach embraces poetic imperfections and moments of unexpected intimacy, crafting a sensory experience that resonates with vulnerability and depth.

A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and an alumna of the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure de Musique de Paris, Klara Pudlakova has cultivated a richly interdisciplinary approach to her craft. Her accolades include top honors at prestigious events like the Jazzfruit competition, where her ensemble Uthando claimed victory, and the Krokus Young Jazz Competition, where she earned a special commendation in 2021. Beyond her vibrant performance career, Klára is a dedicated educator, inspiring students across all age groups with her passion for music.

Otteswed is a spoken word artist and rapper from Cairo, Egypt.

„So Afraid To Show I Care“
With Qow, Otteswed und Klara Pudlakova

CTM 2025 will visit Radialsystem over seven consecutive days from 27 January to 2 February, uniting music experimentation and performances with a 5-day discourse programme and an artistic lab.

This festival edition will run without an overarching theme, instead exploring a series of new and ongoing thematic strands. One of several points of focus will be on how traditional art forms and aesthetics can be reinterpreted within modern sound and performance, outside of (self-)exoticisation and the uneven power dynamics created by mass-cultural and other stereotypes.
