In the beginning of June, the children and young people of the Children’s Dance Company of Sasha Waltz & Guests will once again take the stage at Radialsystem. In their annual showcase, the three oldest children’s dance groups debut creations they have developed over this past year.
In the piece “Voices”, the children of Dance Group 2 (9 to 11-year-olds) take up the relation and resonance between sound and body. Dance Group 3 (11 to 14-year-olds) have been working on a piece that plays with the idea of a ‘line’ as an impulse for movements and the dynamic design of the stage. The young people of Dance Group 4 (14-year-olds and up) present an extended version of the piece “TEXERE”, which they began in 2022. Inspired by the artists Eduardo Galeano and Sebastião Salgado, they unfurl a choreography between fantasy, beauty, innocence and colour.

For 16 years, the Children's Dance Company of Sasha Waltz & Guests has been encouraging children to discover movement as an authentic way of expressing themselves. The training at the Radialsystem offers the young dancers space for free movement training under the direction of dancers from Sasha Waltz & Guests. Today, the young dancers are individually supported in four age groups (6-8 years, 9-11 years, 11-14 years and 14+ years).
