At the end of June, Sasha Waltz & Guests’ Children’s Dance Company is celebrating its 15th birthday and offers a glimpse of its current state of work through a "showing". After two years of pandemic and subsequently flexible training modalities – first online, then in parks – these children and youth are especially excited to present their new creations onstage again.
In a short play, the children of Group 2 (9-11 years) share experiences with nature that they had whilst rehearsing in Berlin parks during the pandemic. The youth of Groups 3 (11-14 years) and 4 (14+ years) dance together onstage for the first time: they exhibit their own interpretation of the choreography "In C" by Sasha Waltz & Guests to the music by Terry Riley and a new creation by Gabriel Galindez Cruz, which follows the 2018 work "Teqsi muyu marq'ay – A warm embrace for the earth".

Die Kindertanzcompany von Sasha Waltz & Guests fördert seit 15 Jahren Kinder dabei, Bewegung als authentische Möglichkeit kennenzulernen und sich auszudrücken. Das Training im Radialsystem bietet den Kindern den Raum für eine freie Bewegungsschulung unter der Leitung von Tänzer*innen von Sasha Waltz & Guests. Mittlerweile bestehen vier Gruppen: Die Kinder von 6-8 Jahren werden von Mata Sakka, Fernando Balsera und Neslihan Schmidt (Piano) unterrichtet. Die Gruppe der 9-11-jährigen Tänzer*innen wird von Annapaola Leso und Alessandra Defazio mit Unterstützung von Joel Suárez Gómez und Fernando Balsera geleitet. Die Gruppen der Jugendlichen („Kids“ 11-14 Jahre und „Teens“ 14+), lang unter der Leitung von Gabriel Galindez Cruz, arbeiten seit 2022 mit verschiedenen Lehrer*innen-Teams, abhängig von den Tanzprojekten, die sie entwickeln. Neben Gabriel Galindez Cruz werden diese Gruppen zeitweise auch von Annapaola Leso, Alessandra Defazio, Aladino Rivera und Wibke Storkan unterrichtet.
