On 15 April, Forum Zukunft Berlin (Forum Future Berlin) will host the panel event ”Zukunft Kultur – Perspektiven in schwierigen Zeiten” (The future of culture - perspectives in difficult times) at Radialsystem. Cultural practitioners from Forum Zukunft Kultur and other initiatives as well as members of the House of Representatives will discuss current cultural policy issues with Joe Chialo, Senator for Culture and Social Cohesion. Guests with an interest in culture are warmly invited. The event will, among other things, consider how culture can maintain its status in society in the face of the great challenges of our time. How can the diverse cultural scene of Berlin be strengthened and developed further; what kind of resources are needed for this? What role can culture play in democracy, social cohesion, and issues of participation? Current issues at the time of the event will also be addressed in the discussion.

Im Forum Zukunft Kultur als Teil der Stiftung Zukunft Berlin arbeiten Berliner Kulturexpert*innen zur Entwicklung der Kultur in der Stadt und zur Kulturpolitik Berlins. Bis heute stellt die revolutionäre Zeitenwende von 1989 die Kulturpolitik, Kultureinrichtungen und Künstler*innen vor große Herausforderungen. Strukturen und Ziele müssen so weiterentwickelt werden, dass sie den Bedürfnissen nachhaltig gerecht werden. Das Forum setzt sich für die Entwicklung neuer, zukunftsweisender Strategien für Kultur in Berlin ein.
