Dreams of Electric Sheep

Workshop techniques of fact checking

Truth or fake news? Even well informed media users aren't always able to make the distinction. Everyday life often doesn't allow enough time to differentiate between real and fake or manipulated content. In addition to the events in the evenings, the Nemetschek Foundation offers workshops where participants can try out methods of fact-checking.

Dreams of Electric Sheep - A dystopian festival

Marc Sinan Company & Guests

What is fact and what is fake? Where does reality end and virtuality begin? And what role do art and music play in this discussion? The Marc Sinan Company dedicate their two-day festival "Dreams of Electric Sheep" to these questions. Different formats have the performers both critically and ironically examine "fake news", while considering the possible consequences of digital overload. On the first evening of the festival, Neue Vocalsolisten premiere award-winning composer Oscar Bianchi's "CIRCLED EXISTENCE". The piece tackles the debate around big data, as well as the digital alteration of the relationship between closeness and distance. In the musical theater talkshow "#WTF 3000" on the second evening, author Nataly Bleuel and guests discuss topics of Social Media, underscored musically by the Marc Sinan Company with special guest Paul Frick. Both festival days include workshops for teenagers and seniors to explore methods of fact-checking together, culminating in performative interventions which will be woven into "#WTF3000".
