ID Festival: L'Chaim - Auf das Leben

Die Vielfalt jüdischen Lebens in Berlin entdecken - Ausstellung

In today's Berlin, Jewish life presents itself in many ways. It is active and diverse. Whether it is a rabbi, a punk or an Israeli artist who has just arrived in Berlin, they all are a part of the lively Jewish community in Germany's capital. The touring exhibition of the Kreuzberg Initiative against Anti-Semitism (KIgA e.V.) portrays Jews who consider Berlin their home. Among them are many Israelis who immigrated to Germany in the past years. The exhibition mainly targets people with no or little knowledge about Judaism and Jewish life. It is available in German, English and Arabic, exploring subjects such as minorities, religion, migration, sexuality or home. Additional material for general or educational purposes is available. ID Festival

Israeli German Festival

After successful past editions, ID Festival is taking place at Radialsystem for the fourth time, embracing a fresh start: a future-oriented "next generation" of artists is invited to explore the topic of Israel-Germany within new formats and forms. Some of this year's highlights include "Cinderella", a ballet-rendition of an opera by acclaimed 13-year-old composer Alma Deutscher, an alternative cabaret shabbat celebration complete with a buffet by Micki Weinberg, new formats from pianists Tamar Halperin, Kai Schumacher and Matan Porat - combined with light design, electronics or yoga, the debut performance of a documentary theater piece about Israeli life in Berlin, a new episode of the award winning SWR podcast "We Love Israel", as well as the exhibition "L'Chaim - To Life". Ancestry, tradition, identity, the future and cohabitation: since its formation, ID festival has been examining important topoi of the Israeli-German community through the lens of diverse artistic formats. The festival provides a forum for artists of Israeli descent living in Germany, while encouraging discussion, exchange and cooperation. Artistic director ID Festival: Ohad Ben-Ari You can book the festival ticket here: You'll find further information on the festival here: A production by ID Festival. In cooperation with Radialsystem, WABE e.V. and the English Theatre Berlin / International Performing Arts Center.
