Cancelled: ID Festival: Prelude – "Sliding thru the Opera"
Now in its fifth year, the ID Festival reflects on the complex relationships between Israelis and Germans living in Germany and the questions they pose to one another. Under the artistic direction of Ohad Ben-Ari, this anniversary edition examines the absurdities of our daily lives. We become privy to artistic debates concerning the insanity of a networked world that is rife with radical change, threatened by populism, and in which everything is broadcast, consumed, and commented upon in real time. The festival revolves around the German premiere of “Waiting for Godot,” directed by Ilan Ronen, and the world premiere of the performance, “Wu Seyen di Chayes?” by the Berlin transgender artist Anali Goldberg. In “Recital I (for Cathy),” by Luciano Berio, Alma Sadé and the Ensemble mini celebrate a nonsense collage comprising brass band music for the circus, Schönberg’s sprechgesang, burlesque, and atonal music. Israeli hip-hop violinist and Grammy winner Miri Ben-Ari presents a combination of pop, urban, European classical music, and various African musical traditions. The panel “Kafka-estce-que” tells of the legal dispute over the estate of Franz Kafka, which was not resolved until 2019 – an absurd IsraeliGerman true crime story… You can book the festival ticket here: https://radialsystem.reservix.de/p/reservix/event/1548958 You can book a day ticket for friday, 24.04.2020, here: https://radialsystem.reservix.de/p/reservix/event/1548922 More information about the festival you can find here https://idfestival.de/
