Hanno Leichtmann: TRPT4769

Klanginstallation
© Hanno Leichtmann
Sound artist Hanno Leichtmann distils his installation material exclusively from thematically defined (sound) archives. For TRPT4769, which is to be premiered at the reopening of radialsystem in early August, he works with a stack of reel-to-reel tapes from percussionist Michael Ranta, with recordings of unique Harry Partch instruments. Leichtmann sends these personally selected sounds through his machinery, which comprises voltage-controlled samplers/loopers, and then assembles the new sounds he thus obtains into a sound installation. In order to achieve this result, he extracted microscopic sounds and layered, re-pitched, stretched, and processed them with spectral tools; he zoomed into the reverb tails of the instruments, experimented with attack and decay, and thus composed a unique, modern psychedelic soundtrack for six loudspeakers arranged in a circle.

The sound installation runs on friday between 5 – 9 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday between 5 – 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 – 10.30 p.m. During these periods, 4 persons are admitted for every 30 minutes.

We are getting closer!

Over four long summer weekends, we will once again open radialsystem to the public and cordially invite you to the concerts, installations, and performances by and with the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Hanno Leichtmann, Peter Cusack, Sandhya Daemgen, Deva Schubert, Guerilla Architects and Alicia Agustín, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Tilman O'Donnell and Mikkel Ploug, Juan Dominguez and Wojtek Blecharz.
The different rooms of the building, the Spree Terrace, and the covered Deck are all to be discovered in a different way than before. Over the past few weeks, we have come to learn how important and yet fragile the shared experience of live performances is. In order to ensure that everyone feels safe and at ease at our relaunch, we want to allow for plenty of space and time for these encounters to unfold onsite. Therefore, together with the participating artists and ensembles, we have developed artistic formats that foster unusual aesthetic experiences and through which radialsystem can also be encountered in a new way.
